The U.S. Secretary of Education is praising Indiana’s efforts to turn around low-performing schools. Arne Duncan spoke to state superintendent Tony Bennett and a group of political and business leaders in Merrillville yesterday.
Duncan says that while steps have been made to improve schools, educators must do more to make Indiana’s schools more competitive globally. Duncan’s visit to Merrillville was part of his six-state “Back to School” bus tour.
