Indiana American Water has asked the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission if the company can raise its rates for water service. The company says the rate hike is needed because of rising expenses in water treatment, improvements to infrastructure, and increased company operating costs. If approved, typical customers in the Muncie Water District would see a 21 cents per day increase in their monthly bill.
