Abortion Bill Continues Through the Statehouse

(STATEHOUSE) – LEGISLATION MODIFYING STATE ABORTION REGULATIONS HAS PASSED THE INDIANA HOUSE BY A 72-23 VOTE. THE BILL MAKES MOST ABORTIONS ILLEGAL AFTER 20 WEEKS. CURRENT LAW RESTRICTS MOST ABORTIONS AFTER THE FETUS IS CONSIDERED VIABLE, WHICH IS AROUND 24 WEEKS. THE BILL ALSO REQUIRES ABORTION PROVIDERS TO INFORM PATIENTS ABOUT POSSIBLE RISKS, INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF BREAST CANCER.
