New Taylor Univ. Science Building Tops Out

(UPLAND) – TAYLOR UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED THE COMPLETION OF THE STEEL FRAMING OF THEIR NEW SCIENCE BUILDING. THE TOPPING OF STEEL CEREMONY MARKED THE PLACEMENT OF THE LAST STEEL BEAM FOR THE EULER SCIENCE COMPLEX. MEDIA RELATIONS DIRECTOR JIM GARRINGER SAYS THE PROJECT IS STILL ABOUT 18 MONTHS AWAY FROM COMPLETION BUT IS ON TIME TO BE OPEN FOR THE FALL SEMESTER OF 2012. THE SCIENCE BUILDING BOATS 797 TONS OF STEEL IN THE FRAME ON OVER 3600 PIECES. THE $41.4 MILLION PROJECT REPRESENTS THE LARGEST FUNDRAISING EFFORT IN THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL AND WILL BE THE LARGEST STRUCTURE ON THE UPLAND CAMPUS.
