No Waivers from the State for School Snow Days

(STATEHOUSE) – THERE WILL BE NO WAIVERS GIVEN TO ANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR DAYS THEY HAD TO CANCEL THIS WEEK DUE TO THE BLIZZARD AND ICE STORM. STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTITUTION TONY BENNETT SAYS SCHOOLS HAVE TO PROVIDE 180 DAYS OF INSTRUCTION. INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE CONSIDERING ASKING FOR A WAIVER, BUT BENNETT SAID NO DISTRICT ANYWHERE IN THE STATE WILL RECEIVE ONE.
