The Indiana House Ways and Means Committee wraps up budget hearings with state agencies next week. The panel then begins the process of writing a new budget for the next two years, based on Governor Mitch Daniels’ proposal. Under Republican control of the House, there are many new members of the committee. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Mike Loizzo talks with one them – Republican Randy Truitt of West Lafayette – about writing a new spending plan.
