Hogsett Says Anderson “Weed and Seed” a Success

THE CITY OF ANDERSON IS CELEBRATING 3 YEARS OF SUCCESS FROM IT‘S “WEED AND SEED” PROGRAM. WEED AND SEED IS AN INITIATIVE INVOLVED LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL AGENCIES DESIGNED TO “WEED OUT” VIOLENT CRIME AND GANG ACTIVITY AND “SEED IN” SOCIAL SERVICES AND ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION TO BUILD BETTER NEIGHBORHOODS.

U-S SOUTHERN DISTRICT ATTORNEY JOE HOGSETT RENEWED THE COMMUNITY‘S COMMITMENT TO THE PROGRAM AND COMPLIMENTED ALL INVOLVED IN THEIR SUCCESSES TO DATE.

HOGSETT SAYS CRIME IN ANDERSON HAS SEEN A 10-PERCENT REDUCTION AND 35 BLOCK CLUBS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN CREATED.

THE WEED AND SEED INITIATIVE BEGAN IN 1991 AND HAS GROWN TO INCLUDE MORE THAN 300 COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE NATION.

HOGSETT SAYS THE ANDERSON PROGRAM IS ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL IN INDIANA.
