Ball State Women Upset Central Michigan, 86 to 77

Kelly Packard’s Ball State women’s basketball Cardinals evened their Mid-American Conference record at 2 and 2 with an 86 to 77 upset of Central Michigan. The Chippewas were previously undefeated atop the MAC West Division. CMU is now 3 and 1, and 11 and 5 overall. Ball State is now 7 and 10 overall.

Emily Maggert and Ty’ronda Benning led Ball State scoring with 22 points each. Jazmin Hitchens added 20.

Ball State was outshot from the floor by CMU 67 to 60, but the Cards dominated the free-throw line, 26 to 10.

The Cards next face Northern Illinois, on the road, Wednesday night at 8, EST.
