Burst water pipes flood basement of Anderson’s Paramount Theatre

A burst water pipe flooded the basement of Anderson’s Paramount Theatre yesterday, leaving its storage and electrical equipment under six feet of water.   Paramount Theatre Centre Director Gayle Burris says the flooding damaged electrical equipment for the theater’s sound system and it will need to be replaced.   Nine dressing rooms also sustained damage. The auditorium, however was not damaged.  Burris says crews are working today to remove the water and auxiliary power is being used because the flood destroyed the theatre’s power plant. Burris says a music show that was scheduled for Friday will be postponed for at least a week. She says she expects the rest of the venue’s January schedule to go on as planned.
