Anderson volunteers demolish house for city

Anderson city officials are praising several local excavating businesses that came together and voluntarily tore down a Walnut Street house – at no cost to the city.  Department of Municipal Development Director Michael Widing says the burned-out house at 1616 Walnut Street has plagued the block for years.  Crews have been at work since November 4th removing trees, tearing down the structure, and backfilling the property.  Widing says the work and services donated have a total value of $8,000.
