Ball State gets grant to help Kandahar University with economics program

Ball State University has received a million dollar grant from the U.S. State Department to help Afghani college professors develop a new economics curriculm at Kandahar University.  Mike Goldsby is the Executive Director of Ball State’s Entrepreneurship Center.  He says the goal is to transition economics education from a Marxist-based system to one of capitalism, free market ideas, and entrepreneurship.

Goldsby and others at the center will visit Afghanistan repeatedly throughout the duration of the two-year grant. In addition to economics education, they will also provide English language studies.
