Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will visit Muncie tomorrow for a job announcement that will bring hundreds of jobs to the area. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has scheduled an 11 A-M announcement at the former A-B-B building on Cowan Road. The 740,000 square-foot plant closed in 1998. The Muncie Star Press reports that the announcement will likely be from Progress Rail Services, an Alabama-based subsidiary of Caterpillar, Incorporated. The company repairs and rebuilds locomotives. The Star Press says Progress Rail could create 650 local jobs in Muncie.
