Groundskeepers at Anderson’s Maplewood Cemetery have caught vandals they say are responsible for damaging about 50 headstones. The alleged culprits are 11 and nine-year-old brothers. Anderson police spokesman Bill Casey says the two boys and another nine-year-old boy face cemetery mischief charges – which could be misdemeanors or felonies, depending on how much monetary damage was caused. Cemetery manager John Dick says he is continuing to calculate that cost… and that the cemetery will pay to fix the damaged headstones. Casey says the 11-year-old boy has already been in trouble this summer. He is on probation for helping a friend steal a bus from a local church in May.
