Anderson’s Bright Automotive will get funding from General Motors to produce their commercial hybrid vehicles. General Motors will fund Bright Automotive through a newly formed company called General Motors Ventures. This is their first funding project. In a joint press release today, the two companies call the deal a “strategic relationship.” Once all the paperwork is signed, General Motors will own a minority stake in Bright Automotive. In exchange, the Anderson company will get access to GM technology and vehicle systems to mass produce its IDEA hybrid van. Bright Automotive officials say their new van will get more than one hundred miles to the gallon.
Bright Automotive’s commercial hybrid van is the “IDEA.”
